Brenda Phelps has worked in the professional costume industry for the past twenty years. She has worked with both costumes and wigs at the Georgia Shakespeare Festival,Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Broadway Bares, and numerous Off-Broadway productions. After working at Barbara Matera Limited on over 100 Broadway shows, as well as film and television projects, and occasionally assisting Broadway designers, she now enjoys teaching Costume Technology and supervising the Costume Shop at WCSU. Recent design projects include Big River at FTC, and Evita and Working at ACT of Connecticut.
Brenda studied theater at The University of Georgia and completed her MFA in Costume Design at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She currently lives in Redding with her two sons and her husband Robert Mars, a painter and fine artist.
