Daniel Gonko is an Audio Engineer and Percussionist in the Greater New York area. He earned Bachelor Degrees in Music Theory/Composition and Music Education at Central Michigan University and graduated with his Master of Music from Western Carolina University in Commercial and Electronic Music. Mr. Gonko maintains an active career that oscillates between musical theatre, jazz combos, and orchestras. He was the Head Audio Engineer for ACT of CT in Ridgefield, CT where he mixed over 125 performances per season, has worked as an audio engineer/designer Off-Broadway, has served as the Head Media Engineer for the Aspen Music Festival and School, and was most recently the Technical Supervisor for SUNY New Paltz’s Theatre Department Reading Series.
Mr. Gonko freelances as a recording, mix, and mastering engineer for both music and video post-production. He has mixed and/or mastered over 500 songs including over 40 full albums and 10 E.P.s for artists hailing from many places including North Carolina, New York, Chicago, Texas, Michigan, Colorado, and the Czech Republic. He enjoys utilizing his background in composition coupled with technology to score short films, as well as write music ranging from solo performer to jazz ensemble to full wind ensemble.
