Wyn Alyse Thomas (she/her) is a writer, arts administrator, producer, and performer from Buffalo Grove, IL. Her work is for those who have ever felt shame for feeling their feelings, and she has a passion for talking about mental health, creating strong female and queer representation, and making the political personal. She is a nationally recognized playwright with her work published and licensed by Samuel French (“stand. Up. HIT!”), Playscripts (“Write Their Wrongs”), and Next Stage Press (“Commitment Issues: A Musical”). Other credits include First Semester: A Musical (2nd Place: Kennedy Center National Student Playwriting Award, 2nd Place: KCACTF Musical Theatre Award, David Shelton Award, New Georgia Group Grant Winner, Semifinalist: SheATL), Scared (National Semifinalist: Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Nuevas Voces Festival, Finalist: ENOUGH!), Prior Engagement (Barter Theatre College Playwrights Festival, Midwest Dramatists Conference), and Don’t Say Gay (Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival). She has worked extensively as an artist and activist with ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence and has worked with Ojai Playwrights Conference, Alliance Theatre, Ring of Keys, and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.
