We are pleased to announce the launch of Thrown Stone Theatre Company.

Thrown Stone was founded in Ridgefield, CT, shortly after Co-Artistic Director Jason Peck moved to the area to lead the St. Luke’s School drama program in New Canaan. He partnered with fellow USC School of Dramatic Arts alum, Jonathan Winn, who lived in nearby Carmel, NY.

“It was great to reunite with an old friend. And we immediately seized the opportunity to collaborate. Jonathan did some print and video design for my first production at St. Luke’s. As he and I got more familiar with the area, we began to realize the richness of the local arts scene, and how we could contribute,” said Peck.

“We were both interested in new plays with daring subject matter,” said Winn. “Jason likes plays with a political edge, and I’m really into history and technology. We saw this as a chance to build something in a community where people are open to new things and eager to take part.”

The partners are now busy recruiting board members, making the appropriate business filings, and most importantly, choosing their first play.

“We have about half a dozen finalists,” said Winn. “They each present unique challenges, for both artist and audience. But we embrace the risk, and we think the audience will too.”

“It’s not enough to be new, or provocative, or edgy,” Peck agreed. “Sure, we want to push the limits, but we’re damn well going to entertain you too.”
