BIrd is the Word

July 26: Bird is the Word

Friday, July 26 at 7PM

Thrown Stone, Ridgefield Library, Keeler Tavern Museum, and The Connecticut Audubon Society invite you to a pre-show exhibition and mingle with noted print collector, Joel Third,  Charles Stebbins, and a special guest. Joel will offer a sneak preview of some of the Audubon prints he plans to exhibit this fall at the Ridgefield Library.

Snacks will be served, and the bar will be open.

This free pre-show event will be followed by an 8pm performance of Birds of North America by Anna Moench. Tickets available at thrownstone.org.

Expressing Motherhood

Thrown Stone is pleased to announce the casts of our two special performances of Expressing Motherhood on July 23 at 7pm and 9pm at Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance. Tickets go on sale on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 12 at 10am.

Seating is extremely limited, and the event is expected to sell out.

Since 2008, moms have been sharing their stories at Expressing Motherhood performances across the country. The show is built for the non-famous, non-published, and people who want to get out and express themselves.  Read more

July 29: Meet the Playwrights

“Meet the Playwrights,” a lively and candid discussion with the award-winning authors of Cry it Out and Birds of North America will take place at the Ridgefield Library on July 29 at 7pm. In this Skype interview, led by SPACE on Ryder Farm founder Emily Simoness, Molly Smith Metzler and Anna Moench answer your questions about their plays live from Los Angeles. Co-sponsored by TownVibe and the Ridgefield Library, this is a unique opportunity to hear from two of the most exciting playwrights in the American Theatre as they discuss their process, their work on stage and screen, and the meaning of #CloseToHome.

Cocktails by Litchfield Distillery and light refreshments will be served. Free admission.

Celebrate Spring With US!

As part of our new series of community events around the theme, #CloseToHome, Thrown Stone will participate in the Ridgefield Parks & Recreation Free Spring Fling on Sunday, March 24 from 12:30 to 4:30pm.

There will be activities for all ages, including:

  • 12:30-4:30 pm: Inflatable Wacky World and Obstacle Course
  • 12:30-4:30 pm: Recreation Swim and Tumble Buckets
  • 12:30-4:00 pm: Free Raffle (see below)
  • 1:00-2:30 pm: Game Show Sensation (join in the fun)
  • 1:00-3:00 pm: Free Grilled Cheese Station and soft drinks sponsored by Stop & Shop
    (Special Grown-Up Grilled Cheese made possible by our friends at Jarlsberg)
  • 2:30-3:30 pm: Thrown Stone Theatre Games with Cry it Out Director, Gina Pulice
  • 1:00-4:00 pm: Wobble Wipeout (must be at least 42″ tall)
