Welcome to the Board, Andrew Levine!

Thrown Stone is honored to welcome Andrew Levine to our Board of Directors. Andrew has been an integral advisor to and advocate for Thrown Stone since our inception, and we are delighted to benefit from his vision, his leadership, and his passion for new work as we continue to build the company.

Andrew has enjoyed a multifaceted career in the performing arts, working as a musician, arts administrator, educator and producer. Currently he serves as the managing director of the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in lower Manhattan. Previously Andrew served as the Executive Director of the York Theatre Company.

They are starting with the U.S. premiere of “Milk,” by Ross Dunsmore, running through July 30, in temporary digs at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance.

Townvibe’s Cocktails with the Cast is shaping up to be the can’t-miss event of the summer.

We’re pleased to announce we’ll be auctioning a few select items that night to support Thrown Stone’s mission of cultivating new work. We want to keep it simple, fun, and quick: Just four silent auction items and two live lots. You must be present to bid.

Luna Rossa is offering its Pre-Theatre Menu before every evening performance, between 5-6:30 pm. For just $35 per person, your party will enjoy three courses of innovative modern Italian just three minutes from the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance. Parking is easy and plentiful, and you’ll arrive at the show with time to spare.

Innovative Modular Stage Donated to Thrown Stone

A chance encounter propels Thrown Stone years into the future

On the sunny afternoon of June 3, 2017, Thrown Stone Production Manager Cyrus Newitt was at the Murray Hill Street Fair in Manhattan. The Snarks, Ltd., a local theatre institution, was attending in costume as historic Murray Hill characters, and Cyrus was their J.P. Morgan. So it was, in tops and tails, that he was introduced to Paula J. Riley, Artistic Director of The Spiral Theatre Studio.

Over the course of many years, the Spiral had developed an innovative theatrical concept: The Spiral Stage. With eight modular rhombus-shaped platforms, the stage can be configured to create an endless array of immersive environments. And since each piece can be easily moved by actors, these environments can morph right before the audience’s eyes. Built sustainably — literally at a 1-horse-powered sawmill in Pennsylvania — this stage was designed with the intent of reducing the cost and waste inherent in set builds and load-ins. Read more

Norwalk Community College PepsiCo Theatre – Thrown Stone was honored today at the 2017 New Canaan Community Foundation Grant Awards with $500 in support of the U.S. Premiere of Milk, a new play by Ross Dunsmore, to be presented July 14-30 at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance. Thrown Stone was one of 73 organizations — including 17 in Arts, Culture & Community Resources — to receive support.
