Last year we returned to live theatre after canceling our 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our twin mandates were to perform outdoors for Covid safety, and to participate in the national conversation on race, equity, and social justice.

Thursday, February 24 is Fairfield County’s Giving Day, and we are raising funds to support our inaugural 068 Magazine Playwriting Fellow, Phanésia Pharel. Ms. Pharel wrote the sensational new play, Should We Dance Instead?, for Thrown Stone’s 2021 season, The Suburbs.
With major support from 068 Magazine, we are pleased to announce the 068 Magazine Playwriting Fellowship and its first fellow, Phanésia Pharel. The six-month fellowship will begin February 1, and include a stipend, developmental funds, and workshops in support of the playwright’s new material. Read more
Thrown Stone is pleased to welcome Kolton Harris, Kevin Mambo, and Kate Schardt to their Board of Directors.
Safety is always Thrown Stone’s first priority, especially as we returned in 2021 to present The Suburbs during the Coronavirus pandemic. Performing outdoors was essential to audience safety, but for a company of artists working closely through a workshop, rehearsals, and performances, additional protocols had to be in place. Read more
Due to Hurricane Henri, the sold out preview and opening performances of The Suburbs have been postponed.
